Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA ) forensic teams have launched an investigation after a third train was torched in the south peninsula in as many weeks . In the previous attacks of arson, four people were injured and one person died. In the latest incident, a fire was reported aboard a train at Steenberg station on Monday June 18, at 2.50pm. The train was headed to Fish Hoek. Three carriages were destroyed but passengers were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported. There were delays on the Southern line as trains operated on a single line between Fish Hoek and Retreat and a shuttle service ran between Fish Hoek and Simon’s Town.
