Crime fighters honoured

Grassy Park community police forum hosted an appreciation awards evening for neighbourhood watches operating within the Grassy Park precinct and Grassy Park SAPS. It took place at the Lotus River Multipurpose Centre on Saturday December 12.

Prestige awards were given to Winston and Janine Magerman from Greenlight neighbourhood watch for their conscientious efforts; Neil Jacobus from Carola neighbourhood watch for being a consistent first responder; the award for the best male neighbourhood watch member was given to Shamieg Saban from Raymond Circle neighbourhood watch and the award for the best female member went to Saadiqah Ganief from New Horizon Neighbourhood Watch.

Ralph Tjadda from Carola NHW also received a commendation certificate; Wendy Davis and Lloyd Jacobus were honoured for always being of assistance and support to the neighbourhood watches and SAPS; and Gemsbok neighbourhood watch received a commendation award for being very active and consistent in their patrols.

The big award went to New Horizon Neighbourhood Watch which was named the Most Outstanding neighbourhood watch in the Grassy Park precinct for 2020.
