Two suspects were arrested after they were found in possession of tik and a stolen motorcycle in Ottery on Friday May 22.
Metro police officers noticed a couple on a motorcycle in New Ottery Road without helmets.
They asked the driver to pull over but he sped off. The officers gave chase.
The driver lost control of the motorcycle and ran off leaving the woman behind, surrounded by packets of tik.
The woman was taken to Grassy Park police station along with 76 packets of tik and the motorcycle.
Metro police spokesperson Ruth Solomons said: “Officers later noticed the ignition of the motorcycle had been tampered with. A check soon revealed that the bike had been reported stolen in the Cape Town CBD earlier this month.”
The officers went back to the streets in search of the other suspect. They found him in Ottery.
The duo was charged with possession of drugs, stolen property and contravention of the National Disaster Management Act.
