A group called Knitwits has been meeting at Grassy Park Library at 10am every Wednesday since Kim Beukes revived the knitting group after Covid.
During August they made dignity packs that they filled with sanitary towels and other toiletries.
They handed these out to schools to inspire and motivate pupils.
While making the bags the knitters and crocheters discovered how creative they are and that whatever they are given, they can use.
However it is the #67 Blankets that is their driving force and they depend on donations to continue the good wool work. Their next venture is bed socks for the seniors to be handed out on International Day for Older Persons which is marked on October 1. Contact Ruth Ely at 083 730 9829.
