Nappies to the value of R150 000 were handed over to the Zoe Project, at Retreat clinic, by two companies who stepped in to extend a helping hand to the moms and their babies, on March 5. The Zoe Project, a non-profit organisation, was formed in 2002.
Zoe Project founding member, Tracey Aitken, said the project supports around 10 000 vulnerable women and aims to empower the new moms to become self-sufficient, healthy, self-confident and valuable assets to society through the provision of educational classes, counselling support, mom and baby starter packs and other help.
Zoe Project is run by three full-time staff and over 30 volunteers.
