Two pupils of Crescent Primary School received awards after impressing the judges with their presentations at the Sheikh Yusuf Gassiep, Imam of Town Centre Mosque’s, second annual “Future Khateeb” public speaking competition on Saturday May 26.
Speakers discussed three topics: The role of the Qur’an, the virtues of Ramadaan and the Battle of Barr – the war in the time of the Prophet Mugammad (peace be upon him). In the primary school’s category, two pupils of Crescent Primary, in Heathfield, achieved second and third positions.
Sayed Haseen-Ud-Deen Mohamed came third and Abdul Mueez Rawoot came second.
Principal Naseerudin Harneker said both were impressive with their presentations of the Battle of Badr as they spoke eloquently and with ease, clarity and confidence and he was delighted with their achievements.
