The Secret Garden is definitely no secret as hundreds of people turned up for this whimsical garden party in the heart of the Constantia valley. Hosted on the property of Caryn and Neville Wilson, it is the brainchild of their daughter Emmah Wilson and her partner Daisy Dickinson who say the secret is that details of the event are only released six weeks before. The idea is for families to share the experience, sit on sprawling lawns and shop from some of the 64 local traders who have chosen a slow way of life. Choose from artisanal food and drink, boutique fashion and homeware, and much more, while meeting other cultures as children do crafts and play under supervision. The Secret Garden supports local charities, including the Hout Bay-based Domestic Animal Group (DARG), the SA Riding for the Disabled Association (SARDA), the Constantia Catholic Church and a Hout Bay feeding scheme.
