The Retreat Seventh Day Adventist Church ran a holiday programme to keep children occupied and safe over the holiday. The church and Nigel Jones, a Pathfinder co-ordinator, introduced the Pathfinder holiday programme which was run at the Retreat civic centre. The Retreat library, police, the Department of Social Development, Sports and Recreation and Ward 68 councillor Marieta Petersen contributed to the programme.
