Children from various schools took part in environmental programmes as part of National Environmental Month, which is marked in June. The Cape Town Environmental Education Trust (CTEET) visited St Mary’s RC Primary, Harmony Primary, Floreat Primary, Levana Primary and Sid G Rule Primary schools during Environment week from Monday June 4. The theme for this year’s campaign is “beat plastic pollution”. Pupils had a blast talking and learning about the importance of recycling, reusing and reducing carbon footprint. The also learnt the types of pollution with its effects; how reusing waste items to make a class poster; and made pledges to beat plastic pollution.
